Exact-hit bonus

With the bonus on, stopping the clock exactly on the target (to the hundredth, like 5.00) makes the round worth 2 points instead of 1.

Rounds

With a round limit, the game ends after the last round and crowns an overall winner by wins.

How to play

  1. Pick a target range. Every round rolls a surprise target from your range — anywhere from 0.1s up to 3, 10 or 15 seconds, or a custom range you set yourself.
  2. Start the timer. The clock hides the moment it starts — count in your head. In solo practice you can also keep the clock visible.
  3. Stop when you think it's time. The display reveals your exact time and how far off you were.
  4. Closest player wins the round and gets 1 point — or 2 points for stopping exactly on the target, if the exact-hit bonus is on. After the final round, the player with the most points takes the game.

The clock shows for 3 seconds, then goes dark — keep counting. Space bar / Enter works too.

Multiplayer Timer Game Modes

There are two ways to play the multiplayer timer game. Both use the same hidden-clock mechanic — press Start, count, stop — but they suit different situations.

Pass & Play: Local Multiplayer on One Device

Pass & Play puts 2 to 12 players on one phone or tablet. Each player takes a turn, the device gets passed to the next person, and the scoreboard tracks who's leading. No internet needed — it works completely offline once the page loads. Good for the kitchen table, classroom, or anywhere everyone's in the same room.

Setup: select Pass & Play from the mode panel, enter player names, choose a target range and number of rounds, and go. Each player sees only their own turn — the scoreboard reveals everyone's results at the end of the round.

Online Challenge: Play from Separate Devices

Challenge a Friend connects players across different devices over the internet. One player creates a challenge and shares a 4-letter code. Everyone joins on their own phone or computer. The host starts the game, and all players take turns on the same hidden target. Results appear in real time on a shared scoreboard.

No accounts, no downloads. The challenge session closes when the game ends. Good for groups not in the same location.

How Multiplayer Scoring Works

In any multiplayer round, all players attempt the same hidden target. After everyone has stopped, results are ranked by closeness to the target:

After your chosen number of rounds, the player with the most points wins.

Multiplayer Timer Game FAQ

Can players be in different countries?

Yes. The online challenge mode works across any internet connection. Share the code and anyone can join from any location.

How many players can play in multiplayer?

Up to 12 players per session, in either pass-and-play or online challenge mode.

Do I need an account to play multiplayer?

No. Neither mode requires an account, sign-up, or app download. Just open the page and start.

Is multiplayer fair if players have different devices?

The timing is handled locally on each device, so network latency does not affect accuracy. Different devices may have slightly different tap-response times, but the differences are typically under 20ms.
