Stop the Timer

Stop the Timer FAQ

Is it free? Do I need an account?

Yes, completely free, and no — no account, no app, no sign-up. The game runs in your browser.

What counts as an exact hit?

Stopping precisely on the target to the hundredth of a second — 5.00 on a 5.00 target. With the bonus enabled, an exact hit makes the round worth 2 points instead of 1.

How many people can play?

Pass-and-play supports 2–12 players on one device. The online challenge works for any number of friends on their own phones: send the invite link, start when everyone is in, and take turns on the same target just like pass-and-play.

Does my device affect the result?

Slightly. Screens, browsers and touch hardware add a few milliseconds of latency, so treat cross-device comparisons as friendly rather than scientific. Within one device, results are very consistent. More detail in the blog.

Why does the clock hide?

Because watching the digits turns the game into a reaction test. Hiding them makes it a test of your internal clock — which is the fun part. Solo practice lets you choose a hidden timer or a visible one.

Is my best score saved?

Your solo best is saved in your browser on your device. Nothing is uploaded anywhere.
