Stop the Timer Game Rules: Solo and Group Play
The rules fit on a napkin, which is exactly why the game works at any table.
Solo
A target appears. Start the hidden clock, stop at the target, read your error. Chase your personal best — anything inside ±0.05s is a “perfect”.
Group (pass-and-play)
- 2–12 players take turns on one device against the same target.
- Each result is written on the round board — no memorising.
- Closest to the target wins the round: 1 point. An exact hit (5.00 on 5.00) is worth 2.
- Play a fixed number of rounds — best of 3, 5 or 7 — and most points takes the match. Ties share the crown.
House-rule ideas and variations for bigger groups are in this group guide, or just start a match.
