Stop the Timer

How to Stop a Timer at Exactly 10 Seconds

By Shehroz Amin · Updated: October 30, 2026

Hitting 10.00 exactly is rare — that's why it scores double. But getting within a tenth is a learnable skill, and once you're reliably inside ±0.10, exact hits start happening.

Build a count that actually takes a second

Count “one-one-thousand, two-one-thousand…”. The filler syllables force each unit to take close to a real second; bare numbers compress as you speed up without noticing.

Start clean

The first second is where most error is born. Press Start and begin the count in the same motion — any pause between pressing and counting becomes permanent error.

Find your bias, then correct it

Play ten rounds of the 10 second challenge and read the EARLY/LATE labels. If you're consistently 0.3s early, deliberately hold one extra syllable before stopping. Correcting a known bias is far easier than becoming unbiased.

Then it's volume: short daily sessions, steady tempo, and the exact hits will come.
